Complete control and the power of direction Explained

Old School? Yes definitely, but certain principles are timeless!

It is not an overstatement to suggest that Dr. Napoleon Hill may be the greatest contributor to wealth creation of the 20th century. There simply is no telling how many of the world’s most successful people became so by the application of the principles Dr. Hill so brilliantly articulated.

Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Napoleon Hill wrote of this profound power in his 1937 classic, Think And Grow Rich. The only thing over which we have complete control and the power of direction, is our own mind.

Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic White Knight II

Branson's Commercial Space Travel Plan On Track

WhiteKnightTwo, which will shuttle SpaceShipTwo into suborbital space, is about to be unveiled in the Mojave desert. I believe that's SpaceShipTwo under the veil. Update: More Photos of WhiteKnightTwo below. Interview with a spaceship pilot. Sir Richard are doing a Q&A now...

• WhiteKnight and SpaceShipTwo can launch higher in altitude than the first ships, but the SpaceShip can't grab enough atmosphere any higher than the previous launch point, so can't go as high this way. So they drop the SpaceShip payload at the same altitude.
• As far as bases go, after New Mexico, they'll open a spaceport in Sweden, and they're talking to Spain and the Far East.
• Who can go on this? Because its suborbital, we can make the flight only 2-3Gs instead of 5Gs and so older people like Sir Richard's parents, Stephen Hawking and others are going to try going.
• Food? Their solution is not feeding you at all. Probably for vomit concerns.

• The wingspan has no seams, its one piece tip to tip. Composites don't bolt together well, so they don't use them.
• This is about seeing the curvature and beauty of the earth and experience weightlessness.
• 270 people are signed up and many have begun training in centrifuges to resist G forces.

More Facts:
• The first ships will be called "Spirit of Steve Fosset" after Sir Richard's friend and his mother, "Eve"
• SpaceShipTwo is 60% done.
• Similar construction and design to SS1
• Will carry six Passengers and two pilots; could carry 11, but Sir Richard only wants to sell window seats.
• Whole fuselage used for passenger cabin
• Reclining seats to max cabin space in zero g and re-entry.
• SpaceShipTwo can do 6Gs front to back, and 3.8Gs head to toe.
• Zero G WILL be out of seat. I hope they have tethers.
• WhiteKnightTwo can ferry SS2 coast to coast in the US.

• Hugging the WhiteKnightTwo is emotionally satisfying, but the hull tastes dusty.
• The port cabin is a mockup with painted windows.

Buzz up!

Cheesecake Factory Story

Few people have achieved in their lifetimes what the Overtons accomplished during theirs. With a great deal of courage and determination, Oscar and Evelyn Overton realized their dream - to own a successful business.

Always known as an excellent cook, Evelyn created her Original Cheesecake recipe that everyone loved. By the late 1940's, she opened a small cheesecake shop in Detroit. In order to raise her two small children, David and Renee, Evelyn chose to put off her dream and gave up the shop. She moved her baking to a kitchen in her basement and continued to supply cakes to several of the best local restaurants. In 1971, with their children grown, Evelyn and Oscar, now in their early 50's, decided to move their cheesecake business to Los Angeles. With the last of their savings, they opened a 700 square foot store, "The Cheesecake Factory". Those early years were extremely lean and sometimes very difficult. Evelyn and Oscar often worked 18-hour days. Evelyn baked and managed the office while Oscar concentrated on selling the cakes and building new accounts... Continued...

The Law of Attraction and Signs From the Universe

You’re driving along and as you tap your fingers to the beat of the radio you happen to notice a billboard with the number 111 in the corner. “Wonder what it is doing there?” you think to yourself but you soon forget about the crazy out of place number as you pull in to the parking lot of your local convenience store. You’ve decided to take a nice long walk in the park and you go to pick up a water and a snack. “Here’s your change. $1.11. What are the chances of that?” the cashier says nonchalantly. You begin to take notice. One, one, one again. What does that mean? As you get in the car with your energy bar and water you look at the time on the car clock. It is exactly 1:11 pm. Now you are really beginning to feel weird. Why all the ones? What is the Universe trying to tell you? What does that number mean?

*Buy one hypnosis session, get seventeen others for free!

Isn’t it strange when this happens with any number? We have this happen all the time and we don’t always know what the exact number means but what we do know is the Universe is giving you a wink and a nod. Maybe to let you know it hears what you have been asking for or maybe you are thinking of a new project and the Universe is saying, YES! Possibly letting you know that you really will be okay through the life struggle you may be having.

But the question is…do certain numbers actually mean something?

They can be a personal sign to you or a universal conscious sign. Many people experience the number 11:11 and you’ll find many explanations all over the internet with this number. We’ve come to the conclusion that 11:11 is a universal new consciousness shift and when you experience seeing it over and over again, you have become a part of that shift.

Certain numbers can mean something specific to you. Maybe someone’s birthday or a date that something significant had happened. Do your best to figure out what is connected to this number for you. The Universe doesn’t give you bad omen numbers. Numbers that are repetitious are usually the Universe asking you to take notice.

Now what about those numbers that you just can’t seem to figure out?

Here’s our suggestion. Run down to the library or your local bookstore and find a number sign book. There are many of these and it doesn’t really matter which one you pick up. Just find what that seems like it is something you would read. Find the number you have been seeing and look at what meaning it says. When you have found the meaning, think if it ‘feels’ right to you and remember the meaning. Now that it is in your own consciousness, that number will now mean what you have seen in the book. And the Universe will use that number to make you aware of what the meaning was.

Every number you see isn’t a sign, only the numbers that seem to repeat themselves and stick out in your mind. By making a connection with something that tells you about that number it will now become a part of your own consciousness and you will have solved your number sign.

When applying the Law of Attraction to your life you can ask for signs from the Universe to help guide you and encourage you and they will appear.

Make yourself aware of what is going on underneath the surface of a repetitious sign. The Universe is giving you a wink and a nod to pay attention to what it is telling you.

Caramelized Onion Zin-Burgers with Crispy Cheddar Frico

Caramelized Onion Zin-Burgers with Crispy Cheddar Frico

*Prep Time:* 30 minutes
*Cook Time:* 30 minutes
*Yield:* 6 burgers

1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 small yellow onions, cut in half and sliced thin
Salt and freshly ground pepper
2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves, chopped
2 cups zinfandel

Fricos:
1 1/2 cups sharp Cheddar, shredded

3 pounds ground beef
6 seeded burger rolls
2 beefsteak tomatoes, cut 1/3-inch thick
6 ounces spring mix salad green

Heat a 10-inch saute pan over high heat. When hot add the olive oil, onions, and season with some salt and black pepper. Reduce pan to medium-high and continue to cook for 10 minutes until caramelized, stirring often. Sprinkle in the thyme and continue to cook for one minute. Add the zinfandel and cook until wine is 2/3 reduced. Take off the heat and let cool to room temp.

For the Cheddar fricos: In an 8-inch non- stick pan heated over medium-high heat add 1/4 cup shredded cheese. Cook until cheese is light brown on the bottom. Turn over with a plastic spatula and continue cooking for another 10 to 15 seconds. Remove to a plate to cool. Wipe pan and start again until 6 fricos are complete.

Form 6 (1/2-pound) beef patties and season very well with sea salt and black pepper on each side. Place on a hot grill and cook until nicely browned, approximately 5 minutes. Turn over and continue to cook to desired doneness.

A couple of minutes before the burgers are done halve the rolls and lightly brown on the grill, open side down.

Place burgers on the bottom halves of the rolls, adding a generous helping of onions. Season the tomato slices with salt and pepper. Top the burgers with frico, tomato slice and greens. Roll up your sleeves and dive in.

Try Shampoo or Conditioner As Alternatives to Shaving Cream

By Erin Schwendemann

Running out of shaving cream isn't the end of the world—just lather up with some shampoo. Thanks to their formulations, shampoo and conditioner can do that job and a whole bunch more.

Web site Life Hackery offers six unconventional uses for shampoo: makeup remover, nail dirt remover, cuticle softener, zipper lubricant, car cleaner, and, perhaps most helpfully, shaving cream substitute:

Shaving cream is one of the products often forgotten during grocery day. Good thing shampoo isn't. In the absence of a shaving solution, apply shampoo or conditioner on the areas to be shaved. Sprinkle a little water to make the solution a bit thicker. Once done, run your razor on the sections with shampoo. You'll... have a close shave, which rivals the results of shaving cream.

We've actually heard conditioner may be an even better solution for improving your shave, whether you're using it as a shaving alternative or just softening up your facial hair before you lather up with shaving cream. Hit up the link for more on the remaining shampoo uses.

Ever use shampoo or something similar in an off-the-beaten-path sort of way? Let us know in the comments.

Want to Use Twitter Offline? Grab a Twitter Pigeon

July 26th, 2009 | by Ben Parr
While it’s true that you can access the web almost anywhere, especially if you have a mobile smartphone, there are times where you could have no Internet access – i.e. your phone dies on a road trip. And if you’re like most social media lovers, you’re addicted to using Twitter (Twitter). So how are you supposed to tweet that your phone’s dead … when it’s dead?

Well, if this parody image from MakeUseOf is any indication, the answer is the “rat of the sky,” the pigeon. We couldn’t resist posting this image. The use of boxes to make sure you don’t go over the 140 character limit alone is brilliant.

Still, we have our concerns. Would you have to write out multiple tweets by hand to get the message to all of your friends? Or does the pigeon visit all your friends one at a time? I’m betting that Carrier Pigeon 2.0 still has some bugs. Still, this could be useful in a dire Twitter emergency:

Would you buy one of these pigeons if they actually existed?
