Want to Use Twitter Offline? Grab a Twitter Pigeon

July 26th, 2009 | by Ben Parr
While it’s true that you can access the web almost anywhere, especially if you have a mobile smartphone, there are times where you could have no Internet access – i.e. your phone dies on a road trip. And if you’re like most social media lovers, you’re addicted to using Twitter (Twitter). So how are you supposed to tweet that your phone’s dead … when it’s dead?

Well, if this parody image from MakeUseOf is any indication, the answer is the “rat of the sky,” the pigeon. We couldn’t resist posting this image. The use of boxes to make sure you don’t go over the 140 character limit alone is brilliant.

Still, we have our concerns. Would you have to write out multiple tweets by hand to get the message to all of your friends? Or does the pigeon visit all your friends one at a time? I’m betting that Carrier Pigeon 2.0 still has some bugs. Still, this could be useful in a dire Twitter emergency:

Would you buy one of these pigeons if they actually existed?
